Hour of Code is an annual event when schools do a whole hour of code throughout the week.
An ex St Alban’s student called Alex Browne who runs his own coding business came to visit our school to talk to KS2 about coding. He explained that working with code involved being creative, solving problems and having fun!
Later we went back to our classes, logged in to the hour of code website and did some Star Wars coding (we all loved it). After lunch Mrs Mogridge told us that we were going to help the Year 1’s and Y2’s to code😆😆. We played coding games using Tynker with the Y1’s and Y2’s and coded Bee Bots with another group of Y1’s. Bee Bots are basically electric bees that you programme to move forwards, backward, left and right.
It was fun helping the younger pupils to learn, although not always easy. I am looking forward to the next Hour of Code
