Anglo-Saxon Architects!
Year 5 have been studying the Anglos-Saxons. Today we wrote about the lives of the rich, for example: thanes, eoldermen and freemen.
This afternoon we began to make Saxon houses. They are different to Celtic houses (which were round). We had to measure rectangles and add tabs so that when we cut out the house shapes we would be able to stick them together. Then we made roofs that over hang the edge of the houses and we are going to thatch them with grass.
